Attention High School Students: Fewer Than Two Weeks Left to Enter Sallie Mae’s ‘Make College Happen Challenge’

Sallie Mae, the nation’s saving, planning, and paying for college company, is asking high school students how they plan to pay for college, and those with the most creative responses could win up to $15,000 in the second annual “Make College Happen Challenge.” The deadline for entries is Dec. 31, so now’s the time to enter.

The “Make College Happen Challenge” is free to enter and open to U.S. high school students ages 14-18. Ten prizes will be awarded, totaling $40,000; first place will receive $15,000, second-place $10,000, third-place $8,000, and seven semifinalists each will receive $1,000.

Students can submit entries via videos, photos, essays, songs, poems, or other creative formats. At the end of January, the top 10 finalists will be chosen based on the creativity of their entry, effective communication of their message, and the potential of their plan. Entries will then be voted on by the general public.

Short Shots is a collection of technically vulnerable charts culled from the Negative Inflecting and Toppy columns within our Weekly Compass report or from various technical screening processes. The charts contained in this report have developed concerning technical patterns that suggest further price deterioration is likely. For these reasons Short Shots can also be a great source of ideas for investors interested in short-selling candidates.
