Sallie Mae’s Bridging the Dream Scholarship Program recognizes inspiring high school juniors and seniors who excel in academics, athletics, community service, or school activities, but whose financial circumstances may not permit them to fulfill their college dreams. Griffith, 17, succeeds both inside and outside the classroom. She is involved in multiple activities, including tennis, marching band, and musical theater, and is working at the Cresson Lake Playhouse. She is an active volunteer at her church and works part time, in addition to her full school schedule. She has a strong interest in journalism and is a member of the Newsworthy News Club.

“Kate is an exemplary student and is extremely involved in the Ebensburg community,” said Susan Dixon, the Central Cambria High School counselor who nominated Griffith. “She is mature beyond her years and takes nothing for granted. This scholarship would open doors for her that didn’t seem possible a few years ago.”

This year, Sallie Mae will award $25,000 Bridging the Dream scholarships to five recipients selected from nominations submitted by high school counselors and community leaders across the U.S. The company received hundreds of nominations, and members of Sallie Mae’s Bridging the Dream Team are traveling around the country to meet with and evaluate the finalists. The team will meet with Griffith next week and winners will be announced before the end of 2017.

“The Bridging the Dream Scholarship Program is central to our mission at Sallie Mae to help students reach their potential and make college happen,” said Martha Holler, senior vice president, Sallie Mae. “We look forward to meeting Kate and the rest of our inspiring finalists from across the country.”

The charts contained in this report have developed concerning technical patterns that suggest further price deterioration is likely. For these reasons Short Shots can also be a great source of ideas for investors interested in short-selling candidates.
