Sallie Mae’s latest customer service enhancements were again recognized as some of the best in financial services. The nation’s saving, planning, and paying for college company today announced it has received a Shorty Award for “Best in Finance App” for its Apple Watch App and Horizon Interactive Awards for the new SallieMae.com and the company’s mobile apps.
Sallie Mae’s Apple Watch app gives customers the ability to view and make payments on their student loan accounts from their wrists. Sallie Mae is the first major student lender to support customer payments from an Apple Watch. The expansion into wearables came just weeks after Sallie Mae introduced its mobile app for iPhone and Android devices, which lets customers access loan information, including current balance, total amount due, interest rate, and payment history. The app also allows customers to make loan payments and, a first for a major student lender, the option to make payments using Siri.
In addition, the mobile and Apple Watch apps, alongside the newly redesigned SallieMae.com, took home Horizon Interactive Awards. Sallie Mae won a Gold Award for the new SallieMae.com, a one-stop digital destination full of free tips, tools, and guidance on everything students and families need to make college happen. Sallie Mae’s mobile app and Apple Watch app were recognized with Silver Awards.
