¿Oye que bola? T-Mobile Customers Now Roaming in Cuba!

T-Mobile (NASDAQ:TMUS) today announced it’s lighting up Cuba with calling, texting and data roaming for customers travelling to the island nation. Thanks to an agreement inked earlier this year, T-Mobile customers can now talk for $2.00 a minute, send text and multimedia messages for $0.50 per message and receive them for free, and use data for $2.00 per MB while roaming in Cuba. And, as always with the Un-carrier, calling back to the U.S. is completely free with Wi-Fi calling.

“The opening of Cuba has been historic—and we’re excited to do our part to help people connect,” said John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile. “Since we have more customers of Cuban descent than any other wireless company, we’re incredibly happy to light up Cuba today for all of our T-Mobile customers. Dale, vámonos a Cuba!”

It’s no surprise Cuba has continually been one of the top requested additions to T-Mobile’s international roaming on social media. In the U.S., almost half (43.7%) of Cuban-born wireless customers are with the Un-carrier and wireless customers in Cuban-American hubs like Miami are consistently choosing T-Mobile over AT&T or Verizon.

T-Mobile moved to respond to those customer requests—signing a deal last spring with Empresa De Telecomunicaciones De Cuba, S.A. (ETECSA), the Cuban telecommunications company.

Back in May, T-Mobile enabled calls from the U.S. to Cuba for $0.60 per minute with its popular monthly “Stateside International Talk” feature ($15 per month). And, now, Un-carrier customers can stay connected while travelling in Cuba.

Today’s news is just one more reason the Un-carrier is the best wireless provider for people with passports. Now, with the addition of Cuba, T-Mobile customers can roam even more of the planet—most of it at no extra charge. T-Mobile customers with qualifying plans can use their phones in Mexico and Canada just like at home, and they get free data and texting and low flat-rate calling in 140+ countries and destinations globally. Qualifying plan & capable device required; taxes additional. Communications with premium-rate numbers may cost extra. Coverage not available in some areas; high speeds not available in some locations—we are not responsible for our partners’ networks.

TMT 3Q25 results: Verizon, T-Mobile US and AT&T/T-Mobile US, AT&T show...

Verizon, T-Mobile US and AT&T all showed solid numbers over 3Q25. Despite strong competition, all three mobile telecom operators were able to grow revenue and EBITDA. Furthermore, we believe T-Mobile US might benefit from a credit rating upgrade at S&P, while we could see debt increase a bit at Verizon and AT&T because of debt-funded acquisitions. In our view, the Euro notes of T-Mobile US look the most attractive in this credit sub-space.

Euro debt markets in favour with tech firms in 2025/Foreign tech compa...

Euro-denominated issuance by TMT companies has been ahead of expectations in FY25. American companies issued far more Euro debt than expected. This is driven by attractive funding costs in Euro markets, because the risk premium required by investors for European credit markets is lower. Some of the large issuers of Euro-denominated debt are active in the technology sector. This was contrary to our earlier expectations because these companies fund their capital expenditures from cash flow. Finall...
