Travelers Institute Selects San Antonio to Launch 2018 Small Business – Big Opportunity® series

The Travelers Institute, the public policy division of The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TRV), will host its Small Business – Big Opportunity symposia series in San Antonio today to discuss the economy, access to capital, cybersecurity, business continuity planning and other issues facing small businesses. The event will be held in collaboration with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, San Antonio Branch; the Insurance Council of Texas; UTSA Small Business Development Center and the Maestro Entrepreneur Center.

Blake Hastings, Senior Vice President, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, will deliver the keynote address on the region’s economic outlook. “Gaining insight into small business is critical to our local and national economies,” said Hastings. “The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas frequently convenes partners and small business leaders to continue the conversation on small business and entrepreneurship. We engage small businesses through roundtables, surveys and programs like this symposium to help ensure their success.”

The event will also feature a panel discussion exploring solutions to many small business challenges. Joan Woodward, President of the Travelers Institute and Executive Vice President of Public Policy at Travelers, will moderate the discussion, joined by the following panelists:

  • Matt Davies, Assistant Vice President, Payments Outreach, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas
  • Aaron Garcia, Second Vice President, Property Claim Management, Travelers
  • Annie Hudspeth, Lender Relations Specialist, U.S. Small Business Administration San Antonio District Office
