VZ (Neutral, TP: $45, Total Return +23%) Model Update

When we published our “Thoughts Following the Call” note earlier (here), we hadn’t checked in with the Company on some of our questions. Two areas where management had a different view than our early read include Broadband adds and Postpaid phone adds. We expand on these in more detail in this note. No change to thesis. Consensus EBITDA is headed higher. Neutral: $45 (+23%).

VZ (Neutral, TP: $45, Total Return +18%) 1Q24 Quick Take: Solid Wirel...

Wireless trends were solid, with myPlan continuing to help postpaid subscriber trends, prepaid improving, and price increases supporting margins. Broadband shows signs of industry slowdown in both FiOS and FWA. Wireless results matter more for Verizon; financial results were slightly better than consensus (except FCF, but this appears due to w/c timing and a pension contribution). Broadband results provide an early warning for trends we expect across the group.
