Wolters Kluwer Unveils Multiple Enhancements to CCH Axcess at CCH Connections User Conference

During the 12th annual CCH Connections User Conference, Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting showcased a series of developments to CCH Axcess, the profession’s first cloud-based, modular tax workflow solution suite operating from a single, core database.

“CCH Axcess is changing the way firms work today. With anywhere, anytime access and a common core database, firms are seeing that the integrated solution is helping them grow by creating significant efficiencies,” said Heffy Provost, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting North America, Medium to Large Firm segment. “Firms can leverage Wolters Kluwer’s depth and breadth of complex tax regulations that are integrated into CCH Axcess, so it’s easier for them to comply with legislation allowing their staff to spend more time advising clients and delivering value-added services.”

Recent CCH Axcess updates designed to navigate complex regulations, support effective firm management, and accelerate firm growth include:

CCH Axcess Practice

The recent enhancements to CCH Axcess Practice build upon last year’s changes that made Accounts Receivable and Billing and Reporting functionality significantly easier and more streamlined. This year’s enhancements provide added efficiency, including:

  • Additional billing options that can help save time regardless of the billing model a firm uses
  • Easier navigation of the billing process, provided by the continued addition of HTML 5 functionality
  • Advanced editing capability to allow for total control of invoice formatting

In addition, future features will provide Data Access APIs to allow for more direct access to information in the CCH Axcess Practice database.

CCH Axcess Workstream

As a workflow solution, CCH Axcess Workstream offers unparalleled integration with other CCH Axcess modules. CCH Axcess Workstream includes several recent enhancements, including:

  • First in/First Out pools give staff more insight into what to work on next
  • Advanced Staff Assignment panes designed to highlight the most pressing projects on an employee’s plate at a moment in time
  • Project Status KPI panes designed to highlight bottle necks and provide deeper insight into the volume of projects at a particular step in the process
  • The ability to replicate and modify project templates simplifies the customized workflow
  • Increased integration that allows users to navigate projects more easily and quickly launch project route sheets directly from a list of files within CCH Axcess Document

Future features will provide Data Access APIs to allow for more direct access to information in the CCH Axcess Workstream database.

CCH Axcess Document Share Safe

Introduced in 2015, CCH Axcess Document Share Safe is a unique file-sharing feature in CCH Axcess Document, created for firms wanting a simple and secure method for exchanging files that didn’t require the use of a portal or third-party application for encrypting and decrypting files. Interest in this safe and easy file exchange option exceeded expectations during last busy season, and it is expected to see an increase in usage again this year. Files are protected by the same end-to-end encryption system that protects files in CCH Axcess Document and CCH Axcess Portal.

CCH Client Axcess

CCH Client Axcess is the next evolution of CCH Axcess Portal, created using HTML 5 and responsive Web design. CCH Client Axcess will offer similar client-facing features that are available in the Microsoft Silverlight version of CCH Axcess Portal, with added firm user and administrative capabilities.

Recent enhancements include the ability to:

  • Drag and drop to add files
  • Create/manage portal users
  • Check-in/check-out files
  • Delete files, move files and view file history
  • Add custom folders and set folder security
  • View/edit file properties including expiration date and read-only mode (depending on permissions)

“With a crisp, clean user interface created using HTML 5 and today’s latest Web and mobile standards and technologies, CCH Client Axcess is poised to become the central hub of digital communications between a firm and its clients,” said Provost. “It’s one of the many innovations and enhancements we’re bringing to CCH Axcess for future-ready firms that are looking to leverage all that a cloud-based, integrated solution can offer.”

In addition to the host of new enhancements, CCH Client Axcess provides:

My1040Data for Axcess

CCH My1040Data takes a new approach to minimize client data entry and to more easily collect 1040 source documents. The navigational capabilities of My1040Data applies insights and feedback from a broad test group of public accounting clients, which provides an approach that aligns with common processes and workflows. For tax year 2016, this client-friendly solution will be available to CCH Axcess Tax customers giving clients of firms the flexibility to access it on a PC, Mac or tablet.

Continued Provost: “CCH Axcess was a game changer when we introduced it in 2013, and by working with our customers, we have and will continue to optimize capabilities so that firms can unleash productivity gains and drive higher revenue.”
