Sok Marketler - 3Q18 Highlights from 3Q18 Webcast
The tone was upbeat as the company achieved its first quarterly net profit and the operating metrics were strong and it appears that the company is ahead of the soft targets for 2018 with respect to store openings (851 as of 9M18 vs. c1,100 in 2018) and margin improvement (the company implies EBITDA margin improvement of around 40bps per year; 9M18 EBITDA m was 5.2% vs. 3.6% in 9M17 and 3.4% in 2017). The majority of the strength in the 3Q18 gross margin was attributed to the ‘operational improvements’ rather than inventory gains and early payments to smaller suppliers.
