American Water Works Company, Inc. According to the contract, the award revenue is estimated at approximately $490 million over a 50-year period. The contract will be subject to an annual economic price adjustment.

“American Water is extremely pleased to be awarded this contract, and we look forward to serving the military community at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base,” said Susan Story, president and CEO of American Water. “We will now be serving 13 installations across the country and are committed to providing our servicemen and women and their families with safe, clean and reliable water and wastewater services for the next five decades and beyond.”

American Water's Military Services Group provides water and wastewater services to military installations across the country as part of the federal government’s Utilities Privatization Program.

“We are honored to be chosen to partner with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base,” said Todd Duerr, president of the Military Services Group. “We appreciate the commitment of the Department of Defense to utility privatization to obtain long-term mission security and resiliency.”

“We are fully committed to providing military installations with industry-leading water and wastewater services. We also look forward to applying our company’s R&D efforts and technology innovation to the military’s critical efforts of reducing energy use and ensuring the highest standards of water quality,” Duerr added. “We strive to become an integrated support unit of the installation – the water and sewer department – and to offer solutions that best meet the needs of its mission.”
