McIntyre replaces Kathy Pape, who was named American Water’s senior vice president of Regulatory Policy and Business Development.

“We are so pleased to have Kathy and Jeff take on these new expanded roles for our company,” said American Water’s chief operating officer, Walter Lynch. “Kathy has done an exceptional job leading our Pennsylvania operations for nearly 10 years, and we look forward to having her lead best practices across our business. Jeff’s deep utility experience and commitment to excellent customer service make him a great fit for his new role, and I know he looks forward to meeting our customers and communities in Pennsylvania.”

McIntyre joined the company in 2002 as director of Operations with American Water Canada Corp. In this role, he oversaw the Canadian business with 25 client contracts and more than 200 water and wastewater treatment, distribution and collection facilities across the province of Ontario.

Prior to joining American Water, McIntyre served as manager of water quality for the city of Hamilton, Ontario, where he was responsible for the O&M of three wastewater treatment plants, treating between 4 and 400 million liters per day (MLD); a 900 MLD conventional water treatment plant; four communal well systems; and 160 pumping stations and reservoirs. He was also responsible for capital planning and implementation activities for these facilities, maintaining O&M agreements and overseeing the city’s CAEAL-certified environmental laboratory.

McIntyre’s additional experience includes positions with Philip Utilities Management Corp., the Regional Municipality of Hamilton-Wentworth and the Royal Canadian Navy.

A graduate of Brock University, McIntyre has obtained several professional certifications in water and wastewater operations and engineering.
