New Jersey American Water began work this month on a number of water infrastructure improvements, investing over $4.4 million within its Monmouth County service areas. The approximate 30,130 feet of new pipe replaces water main that was installed as far back as the 1900s. The existing pipe has reached the end of its useful life and will be replaced with new ductile iron and PVC pipes.
“These projects demonstrate our commitment to provide high quality, reliable water service to our customers and represent just a few of the $350 million in system-wide upgrades we are making in 2017,” stated Jeff Bowlby, manager of field operations. “We encourage customers to use our new, user-friendly Infrastructure Upgrade Map located on the company’s website to details about its pipeline renewal projects, including these projects located in Monmouth County.”

- Bradley Boulevard, from Main Street to Evergreen Avenue
- Evergreen Avenue, from Main Street to Ocean Avenue
- Monmouth Avenue, from Main Street to Bradley Boulevard
- Atlantic Avenue, from Burlington Avenue. to Evergreen Avenue
- Burlington Avenue, from Route 71 to Bradley Boulevard
In Little Silver:
- Little Silver Parkway, from North Sunnycrest to South Sunnycrest
- Sunnycrest Court, from North Sunnycrest Drive to end of the roadway
- North Sunnycrest Drive, from South Sunnycrest Drive to White Road
In Aberdeen:
- Bechstein Drive, from South Atlantic Avenue to Brookview Lane
- Brookview Lane, from Bechstein Drive to Route 34
- Beacon Lane, from Bechstein Drive to Brookview Lane
- Belle Place, from Brookview Lane to end of the roadway
In Long Branch:
- James Street, from Joline Avenue to Sampson Place
In Neptune:
- Bayard Place, from Prospect Place to Corlies Avenue
- Prospect Place, from Corlies Avenue to end of roadway
- Maple Avenue, from Wayside Road to Hazel Street
- Tilton Place, from Wayside Road to Corlies Avenue

Bowlby also reminded drivers and pedestrians to take caution while traveling in the vicinity of work sites, especially during construction hours. “Construction for these projects are expected to be completed by the end of December and final street restoration will take place in the spring 2018.”
