Comcast Returns as Title Sponsor of Portland Parks & Recreation’s “Summer Free For All” Program for Second Consecutive Year

Comcast Oregon/SW Washington will return as title sponsor of Portland Parks & Recreation’s (PP&R) Summer Free For All program.

Marc Farrar, VP of External Communications at Comcast, will kick off the festivities by presenting a $40,000 check to Mike Abbaté, Executive Director of PP&R, and City Commissioner Amanda Fritz at Mt. Scott Park on Monday, July 10 at 11:30 am.

“Comcast is very pleased to be back for our second year as the presenting sponsor of Summer Free For All,” said Farrar. “The free evening concerts and movies give our families, friends and neighbors across Portland a chance to enjoy great entertainment together and make new memories.”

Thousands of Portland residents participated in last year’s Summer Free For All, with even more expected this year. Activities include a broad portfolio of culturally diverse music, movies, and recreation programs. And through the Free Lunch + Play program, Portland Parks & Recreation expects to once again serve more than 111,000 free, healthy lunches to children in parks across the city. The Free Lunch + Play program is accompanied by sports, games, crafts and family activities.

Comcast will be hosting many of the Summer Free For All Concerts and Movies in the Park, handing out fun gifts like sunscreen and water bottles, and staff will be on hand to provide information about Comcast’s Internet Essentials program, which provides low-cost internet access to qualifying low-income households.

Summer Free For All schedules for 2017 are posted on the PP&R website in nine languages.

A deeper dive on 'terminal' broadband market share

In Partial Win for Cable, Trump Memoranda Appears to Protect CBRS

Late Friday, President Trump released a new Presidential Memoranda on 6G and Spectrum. While what the Memoranda said is largely a restatement of what we have previously reported, we think the most important element for investors is what it didn’t say; specifically, that by omission it appears to protect the spectrum known as the Citizens Band Radio Services (CBRS) currently used by cable (and others) for wireless services. In this note we provide an analysis of the Memoranda.

CMCSA 4Q25 Preview

We have updated our model for recent management commentary at investor conferences. Changes to our estimates are minor. We expect broadband losses to remain elevated due to heightened competition from fiber and FWA.
