Arena Stage Elects Maggie Fitzpatrick to Board of Trustees

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater named Maggie FitzPatrick, Exelon’s senior vice president of Corporate Affairs, Philanthropy and Customer Engagement, as one of four new members to its Board of Trustees. Located in Southwest Washington, the theater stages productions that explore issues reflecting America’s diversity and challenges and provides community and education programs that train future artists and educators, engage students and invite younger, more diverse audiences.

“Arena Stage operates at the center for American theater in the nation’s capital with a rich history of presenting works by bold and diverse voices,” FitzPatrick said. “Exelon is committed to supporting organizations that lift all voices and enhance communities. I am honored to support the important work of Arena Stage and its Board of Trustees.”

Arena Stage is one of the nation’s flagship theaters. Founded in 1950, it was one of the first nonprofit theaters in the U.S. and a pioneer of the regional theater movement. The theater has nurtured and produced 22 shows that have appeared on Broadway, including “Dear Evan Hansen,” which won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Musical.

FitzPatrick is a life-long supporter of the arts. In addition to her work with Arena Stage, she is a strong advocate for equality and diversity and inclusion. She also serves on the boards of the National Partnership for Women and Families and Achilles International. FitzPatrick was named one of the most powerful people in public relations by PR Week Magazine in multiple years.
