Exelon Volunteers Support Hurricane Harvey Rebuilding Efforts, Donations Total More Than $350,000

Employees from Exelon Corporation are working to restore homes and rebuild lives in the Houston area following the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey.

Along with a $150,000 donation by Exelon and Constellation, the company’s competitive retail and wholesale business, employees across the company have donated approximately $100,000 to Houston charities, which will be matched dollar-for-dollar through the Exelon Foundation Matching Gifts program for an additional $100,000.

Employees across the Exelon family of companies have banded together to support their colleagues in a variety of ways, including rebuilding homes, shuttling rental cars from Dallas and providing food and shelter to those whose homes are now uninhabitable. Constellation Field, a minor league baseball stadium in Sugarland, Texas was temporarily opened as a shelter for those displaced by the flooding and was used as a Red Cross training center. Company volunteers will now use the field as a staging area to assist with clean-up efforts in the weeks to come.

Throughout September, close to 100 employee volunteers from various company locations will travel to affected areas to support recovery efforts, working with the nonprofit All Hands Volunteers. Employees will also donate their time to Habitat for Humanity restoration efforts, benefiting displaced families in northeast Houston’s Harrell Park neighborhood.

“We continue to stand by our Houston colleagues as they recover from this tragedy,” said Chris Crane, Exelon president and CEO. “The outpouring of generosity and strength is a testament to the values we live each day.”

Exelon has approximately 500 employees at facilities throughout the Houston area, including a Constellation regional office and Exelon Power electricity generating stations. While all employees have been accounted for, several of their homes -- like so many in the region -- have either been destroyed or sustained significant damage. Affected employees will be eligible for grants of up to $10,000 from the Exelon Foundation.

Exelon also expects to provide additional financial support for long-term recovery efforts through the company’s upcoming Employee Giving Campaign.

Vermilion Compass: Weekly Equity Strategy

S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 Testing Initial Support In last week's 2/25/25 Compass, we discussed our expectation for near-term downside as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) displayed several bearish short-term developments. We also said it likely means at least another 2-4 weeks of consolidation, and that if the S&P 500 remains below 6100 and 6150 resistances, do not be surprised if there is a test of the bottom of the range at either 5770-5850 or 5600-5670, where we would be buyers (though we need 5...
