First Foundation Inc. (NASDAQ: FFWM), a financial services company with two wholly-owned operating subsidiaries, First Foundation Advisors and First Foundation Bank, announced today that the Supporting Our Communities initiative for 2017 is open for all qualified applicants to apply. The purpose of the initiative is to help charitable organizations increase their capacity for sustainable growth.
Since inception, the Supporting Our Communities initiative has served approximately 80 organizations. Recipients have included the Chinatown Community Development Center in San Francisco, Asian Pacific Community Fund in Los Angeles, Easter Seals of Hawaii, Mercy House Living Centers in Irvine, Workshop for Warriors in San Diego, Habitat for Humanity of the Coachella Valley, Cancer Resource Center of the Desert, and Rainbow Dreams Educational Foundation in Las Vegas.
The program has already awarded $2.5 million in funding and in-kind services to community non-profits in Southern and Northern California, Las Vegas, and Hawaii. In its fifth year, the program has expanded its reach – in addition to awarding approximately 20 organizations with a monetary grant of $5,000 and 20 hours of in-kind consulting services, it will support grants for approximately 20 more organizations that focus their impact on low- and moderate-income communities.
