Gartner Announces Winners of the Gartner Peer Insights Customer Choice Awards for Endpoint Protection Platforms

Gartner, Inc. announced today the winners of the Gartner Peer Insights Customer Choice Awards for Endpoint Protection Platforms (EPP). The Customer Choice Awards are a ranking of vendors by verified end-user professionals, taking into account both the number of end-user reviews, and the overall user ratings.

EPP provides a collection of security capabilities to protect PCs, smartphones and tablets. EPP is an integrated solution that has the following capabilities: anti-malware, personal firewall, port and device control. Beyond fighting malware, modern EPP products are expanding to include data protection features, such as disk and file encryption, data loss prevention and device control.

Symantec is the Gold Award winner of the 2017 Gartner Peer Insights Customer Choice Awards for EPP, followed by Cylance with the Silver Award, and ESET with the Bronze (see Table 1). More information on the award winners is available at the Gartner Peer Insights Customer Choice Awards for Endpoint Protection Platforms page.

"In interpreting reviews, it's difficult for IT professionals to balance the number of reviews for a company versus a company's overall rating," said Ken Davis, executive vice president of Products and Services at Gartner. "The Gartner Peer Insights Customer Choice Awards are designed to help end users navigate these issues to make better purchase decisions. We work hard to ensure that all of the reviews are submitted by an IT professional or business user who has had experience purchasing, implementing and/or using the enterprise solution they are reviewing — free from conflicts of interest."

Vermilion Compass: Weekly Equity Strategy

Still No Decisive Breakout as SPX Tests 5783 The S&P 500 (SPX) remains just below 5783, which is the upper-end of an important target/resistance area we have discussed for over a month (5670-5783). 5670 was the prior all-time high set in July, while 5783 is 2% above 5670. It is hard to call it a "decisive" breakout if the SPX is not even 2% above its prior high, and, importantly, in 2007, the SPX made a top after climbing 1-2% above its prior high. To reiterate, the 2007 topping analog has trac...
