Government Properties Income Trust Announces Six Additional EPA ENERGY STAR Certified Buildings

Government Properties Income Trust (Nasdaq: GOV) today announced that six of its buildings have received U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ENERGY STAR certification for the first time in 2016. To be eligible for ENERGY STAR certification, a building must earn an ENERGY STAR score of 75 or higher, indicating that it performs better than at least 75% of similar buildings nationwide. The GOV buildings receiving ENERGY STAR certification for the first time include the following:

In addition to these six buildings, 44 other GOV buildings have previously received, and currently have active, ENERGY STAR certifications. These 50 combined buildings have a weighted average ENERGY STAR score of 86. All 50 of these buildings are managed by RMR Real Estate Services, a division of The RMR Group LLC. The RMR Group LLC manages Government Properties Income Trust and it is the majority owned operating subsidiary of The RMR Group Inc. (Nasdaq: RMR). RMR Real Estate Services is responsible for providing all aspects of property management services to more than 600 buildings with over 65 million square feet of commercial office, industrial, medical office, lab and retail space that are managed by The RMR Group LLC.
