MAXIMUS to Share Insight Into Medicaid Home-Care Employment and Preadmission Screening at National Home & Community Based Services Conference

MAXIMUS (NYSE: MMS), a leading provider of government services worldwide, announced today that Barbara Selter and Nancy Shanley will be featured presenters at this year’s National Association of States United for Aging and Disabilities (NASUAD) Home & Community Based Services (HCBS) Conference.

Ms. Selter, Vice President of Health Services at MAXIMUS and an expert in Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS), will participate in a panel presentation titled “Employing the Disadvantaged, While Meeting the Growth Need for Home Care Workers.” Her session will examine strategies for addressing the gap in home care professionals, including an innovative pilot approach implemented in Arizona. Her panel will include Tyler Burke and Bill Tapp, President and Vice President of Practical Training Solutions, and Michael Bolton, Vice President at MAXIMUS.

Ms. Shanley, Vice President of Consulting and Policy Analysis at MAXIMUS and an expert in Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR), will share her perspectives in a panel session titled “PASRR: Old News or New Frontier?” Her presentation will look at how Indiana transformed its preadmission screening and eligibility process to improve the experience of its LTSS population. Her panel will include Yonda Snyder and Debbie Pierson, Director and Deputy Director of Indiana Family and Social Services Administration’s Division of Aging, and Jennifer Burns, Director of Project Management at MAXIMUS.

“With an increasing number of Americans now qualifying for LTSS, Medicaid enterprises are looking for ways to better serve these populations,” said Bruce Caswell, President of MAXIMUS. “We are excited to share our insights for how states can improve the effectiveness of their long-term care programs while providing a viable career pathway to disadvantaged populations.”

The NASUAD HCBS Conference showcases innovative national, federal, state and local delivery and policy developments that work to ensure individuals receive the highest quality community living supports, care and services. The conference will take place from August 27-31, 2017 at the Baltimore Marriot Waterfront in Baltimore, Maryland. To learn more, visit nasuad.org/hcbs-conference.
