MetLife wins 2016 Life Insurance Company of the Year in the Middle East & Africa at the Middle East Insurance Industry Awards (MIIA) 2016

MetLife – one of the region’s leading insurance companies and a global provider of insurance, annuities and employee benefit programs – was the winner of the Life Insurance Company of the Year award in the Middle East & Africa region, for the third consecutive year, at the 2016 Middle East Insurance Industry Awards (MIIA), organized by Middle East Insurance Review.

As cited by MIIA, “As a third time recipient of the Life Insurance Company of the Year award, MetLife continues to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the industry and stays ahead of competition by providing exemplary customer service including enhancing its digital foundation.”

The awards, which were established in 2014 to recognise excellence within the regional industry, attracted entries from across the region, and were presented at a ceremony held on November 8th, in Dubai.

Julio Garcia-Villalon, Regional Head, Middle East & Africa Region, MetLife, who received the award at the gala event, said: “Once again I am honored to receive this prestigious award for the third consecutive year and dedicate it to our employees, field force and business partners across the region. This is yet another testimonial to MetLife’s strength and leadership in MEA region”.

“I also would like to thank the distinguished panel of judges and organizers for their trust and confidence in MetLife”, added Julio Garcia-Villalon. “Our goal is to continue serving our customers and providing them the best products, solutions, services and experiences to meet their evolving needs.”

MetLife’s regional Middle East & Africa hub supports operations in 11 territories. MetLife was the first life insurance company present in many Middle East & Africa countries, and has been serving its customers in this region for nearly 65 years.

The MIIA is heralded as the premier awards of the MENA region with clearly defined criteria and a transparent process served by a panel of 20 distinguished judges. The judging panel, which was drawn from the domestic, regional and international insurance markets, had some 250 candidates to assess this year.

Vermilion Compass: Weekly Equity Strategy

S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 Testing Initial Support In last week's 2/25/25 Compass, we discussed our expectation for near-term downside as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) displayed several bearish short-term developments. We also said it likely means at least another 2-4 weeks of consolidation, and that if the S&P 500 remains below 6100 and 6150 resistances, do not be surprised if there is a test of the bottom of the range at either 5770-5850 or 5600-5670, where we would be buyers (though we need 5...

Vermilion Compass: Weekly Equity Strategy

SPX Testing Resistance as Rate Cut Cycle Begins The S&P 500 (SPX) is back to test YTD highs and important resistance in the 5670-5783 range. This is an important target/resistance area we have discussed for weeks; using the 2007 SPX topping analog which has tracked the current market almost perfectly, it would suggest a 2% or less move above the prior all-time high set in July at 5670 before topping, which is where we get the 5783 number. As long as the SPX does not have a weekly close above 57...
