Northern Trust announced today that Shannon Morton has joined the company as a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager for its Foundation and Institutional Advisors (FIA) group. Morton will develop, implement and manage investment portfolios for foundations, endowments and nonprofit institutions. She reports to Patrick Everett, Senior Investment Officer for FIA’s West Region.
Morton has over 20 years of investment management experience. Prior to joining Northern Trust, she was Director and Global Investment Strategist within Blackrock’s Investment Institute. In that role, she developed tactical country, sector and asset allocation models for implementation with iShares ETFs. Morton also served as Director and Portfolio Strategist in the Multi-Asset Strategies Group at Blackrock where she was responsible for the representation of the firm’s model portfolios.
Morton earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and a Major Equivalency in Spanish at The University of Texas at Austin. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
