Novocure (NASDAQ: NVCR) today announced the launch of a campaign intended to drive awareness and understanding of Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) therapy as a distinct anticancer modality and an emerging cornerstone of solid tumor treatment. TTFields are electric fields that exert physical forces to kill cancer cells via a variety of mechanisms.
With a poor survival outlook across many solid tumors, physicians and patients need additional treatment strategies that utilize innovative modalities. TTFields are electric fields that exert physical forces to kill cancer cells via a variety of mechanisms. TTFields do not significantly affect healthy cells because they have different properties (including division rate, morphology, and electrical properties) than cancer cells.
