ServiceNow Named as a Leader in Strategic Portfolio Management Tools by Independent Research Firm

ServiceNow (NYSE: NOW) today announced that Forrester Research Inc., a leading industry analyst firm, has named ServiceNow a “Leader” in The Forrester Wave™: Strategic Portfolio Management Tools for Q3 2017 (published Sept. 20, 2017) for its IT Business Management (ITBM) solution.

ServiceNow received the highest scores possible in the program/product management, integration support, product strategy, and partnership ecosystem criteria. ServiceNow scored higher than any other vendor in the portfolio management criterion. Furthermore, the report states, “Clients talked about the common platform, flexible workflow, and configurability as prominent features that helped them to deliver on strategic technology portfolios.”

According to Forrester, Strategic Portfolio Management tools are essential in digital transformation, and that “getting the most value while keeping waste to a minimum illustrates that companies need a portfolio-centered approach to strategic planning and product delivery.”

Earlier this year, ServiceNow launched several new ITBM applications in their latest release. These new applications give CIOs a business command center to run their IT organizations like a business. With visibility into their various project and application portfolios as well as financial insights into the cost of delivery, they can better manage resources and budgets to support the company’s goals.

“To be successful in leading the digital transformation of their companies, CIOs must closely align the IT organization to the business,” said Karel van der Poel, general manager, IT Business Management, ServiceNow. “Recognizing this need, we have made significant enhancements to our ITBM solutions, including the addition of Application Portfolio Management, new portals for significantly improved access to information and a new Software Asset Management product, so IT leaders can quickly adopt a business-like approach to plan and deliver products and services to their customers.”

For this report, Forrester evaluated vendors against 27 criteria, which were grouped into three high-level categories: Current Offering, Strategy, and Market Presence. The report shows how each provider measures up and helps enterprise architecture (EA) and portfolio management office (PMO) professionals make the right choice.
