As expected, a majority of the Parliamentary Finance Committee backed the proposed petroleum tax change in Norway, which will now be put to two votes in Parliament (the temporary change implemented in June 2020 also had majority support). On the other hand, last week the UK announced a 25% windfall tax on its oil and gas sector. Finally, the Hammerfest LNG is now back in production, which could boost Norway’s gas exports by ~5%.Aker BP ASA engages in the exploration, development, and production of petroleum resources on the Norwegian Shelf. In addition, Co. has a separate Johan Sverdrup business unit to manage its interest.
