Co.'s business can be divided into three separate product and service areas: hardware, software and services. Co.'s hardware, software and services offerings are divided into four areas: Communication, which consists of communication and networks; Collaboration, which consists of video and web conferencing, IP telephony, AV solutions, Unified Communication solutions, mobility and chat; Clients, which consists of PCs, tablets, smartphones; as well as Data centres, which consists of servers, data storage, virtualization and management.

BioArctic is a research-based biopharma company which is engaged in developing new innovative disease modifying treatments based in antibodies (immunotheraphy) for neurodegenerative disease (i.e. diseases where the nervous system degenerates) such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease and a treatment concept for complete spinal cord injuries (i.e. an injury where the spinal cord is completely broken). Co.'s main products are lignin-based products and specialty cellulose, but its product portfolio also extends to vanillin, bioethanol and fine chemicals. Co.'s products serve applications in a range of global end-markets including construction, agriculture, food and beverages, transportation and pharmaceuticals. Co.'s business model is closely linked to the integrated nature of its biorefinery in Norway, which utilizes the wood components to produce a portfolio of products. Co. operates in three business segments: Performance Chemicals, Specialty Cellulose and Other Businesses.

Co.'s proprietary technologies include the DuoBody technology, which creates antibodies that can target two molecules at once, and the HexaBody technology, which allows for the creation of more potent antibodies.

HMS Networks AB (HMS) is a Sweden-based company engaged in the provision of communication technology for industrial automation. The Company provides solutions to connect industrial devices to networks and products enabling interconnection between different industrial networks. The Company's products are classified into two brands, namely Anybus and Netbiter. HMS, under the brand name Anybus, manufactures and markets intelligent communication technology for machines and electrically controlled equipment. Under the brand name Netbiter it develops and sells communication equipment that facilitates remote management through the Internet, either via the fixed telephony network or the mobile telephony network. Co. has three business areas: Europe & Asia/Pacific and Americas, which provide forest, park and garden products to dealers and retailers in Europe and Asia/Pacific, and in North and Latin America, respectively; and Construction, which provides light construction products and diamond tools.

Petroleum Geo-Services is engaged in providing geophysical services and oil and gas production services. As of Dec. 31, 2001, Co. operated six Ramform design vessels in its marine seismic data acquisition operations.

Recipharm AB and its subsidiaries is engaged as a manufacture pharmaceuticals and perform contract development services for pharmaceutical companies. Co.'s segment are Manufacturing Solids & Others, Manufacturing Steriles, Development & Technology and Other. The manufacturing segments consist of contract manufacturing of pharmaceuticals. The Development & Technology segment provides services to pharmaceutical companies in the drug development phase for new pharmaceuticals.

Schibsted is engaged in the media industry and has four segments: Online classifieds, which include the Norwegian online marketplace and operations outside Norway; Schibsted Norge media house, which includes the media houses VG, Aftenposten, Bergens Tidende, Stavanger Aftenblad and Faedrelandsvennen, printing and distribution operations, and the publishing house Schibsted Forlag; Schibsted Sverige media house, which includes media houses Aftonbladet and Svenska Dagbladet and a portfolio of internet-based growth companies; and Media Houses International, which includes of free newspapers 20 Minutes in Spain and France and Eesti Meedia Group comprising of operations in the Baltic States.

Fixed service comprise telephony, Internet and television (TV), leased lines as well as data services and managed services. Broadcast comprises Canal Digital DTH in the Nordics, satellite broadcasting, terrestrial radio and TV transmission in Norway and Belgium and encryption related services for TV distribution.

Trelleborg AB provides engineered polymer solutions. Co. has five business areas: Trelleborg Coated Systems, which supplies solutions for polymer-coated fabrics; Trelleborg Industrial Solutions, which provides polymer-based solutions for industrial antivibration solutions and industrial sealing systems; Trelleborg Offshore & Construction, which supplies polymer-based solutions used in offshore oil and gas and infrastructure construction environments; Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, which supplies polymer-based sealing solutions deployed in general industry, light vehicle and aerospace environments; and Trelleborg Wheel Systems, which supplies tires and wheels for materials handling vehicles.
