Borregaard (Hold, TP: NOK80.00) - Growing concerns
We are bearish ahead of the Q4 results (due at 07:00 CET on 2 February), forecasting adj. EBITA of NOK90m (-44% YOY, 29% below consensus). This is driven by challenging markets in lignin, cost inflation, normalising fine ingredients deliveries, and a NOK25m one-off from the chlor-alkali plant. With higher Spanish volumes and growing cost inflation, we have cut our 2018e EBITA by 5% (slightly offset by FX) and our target price to NOK80 (85). We reiterate our HOLD recommendation.Borregaard is a supplier of specialized biochemicals for a global customer base. Co.'s main products are lignin-based products and specialty cellulose, but its product portfolio also extends to vanillin, bioethanol and fine chemicals. Co.'s products serve applications in a range of global end-markets including construction, agriculture, food and beverages, transportation and pharmaceuticals. Co.'s business model is closely linked to the integrated nature of its biorefinery in Norway, which utilizes the wood components to produce a portfolio of products. Co. operates in three business segments: Performance Chemicals, Specialty Cellulose and Other Businesses.
