FOWIC to assist and market turbine installation newbuild
Bonheur, through its subsidiary Fred Olsen Windcarrier (FOWIC), has entered into a partnership with Shimizu for offshore wind installations, under which it will market Shimizu’s newbuild turbine installation vessels for projects outside Japan and supplement with vessel capacity in Japan, if needed. The newbuild under construction by Shimizu is a Gusto 14000XL (capable to handle next generation turbines) and was ordered in 2019 with delivery in late 2022. The partnership should be positive for Bonheur as it 1) adds another stream of revenues 2) gives it access to a state-of-the-art installation vessel for the international market (when it is not busy in the Japanese market)
