Danske Bank (Buy, TP: DKK210.00) - Dividend return and 2023 optimism
Fuelled by further NII expansion, loan loss reversals and a DKK0.6bn tax benefit, Danske Bank reported a Q2 ROE of 12.0%, despite a ~DKK0.7bn negative one-off related to the pending sale of its Norwegian retail portfolio and a YOY downtick in fee income. The board proposed an H1 DPS of DKK7.0, which implies a 4.2% yield and a ~59% payout ratio. It raised its 2023 net profit guidance to DKK18.5bn–20.5bn (DKK16.5bn–18.5bn). At a 2024e P/E of ~6.6x, we continue to find the valuation attractive. We reiterate our BUY and DKK210 target price.Danske Bank is a diversified financial services firm.
