Quant: January effect portfolio results
For only third time in 23 years, the OSEBX index declined during the designated holding period from mid-December to the fifth trading day of the new year. Our OSEBX January effect portfolio also struggled this year, hurt by a combination of rising rates, high betas in a soft market and a profit warning from Elmera.
