Pakistan Equity Market - Fate of Pakistan in MSCI Emerging Market Index

We disregard speculations that all of Pakistani stocks will be removed from MSCI EM on the basis of free float market capitalization
The foremost criteria for removal from the Index is based on total market capitalization which will likely result in downgrade of LUCK from the MSCI EM Index to Small Cap Index via upcoming Semi-annual review to be announced on 13th November – UBL remains a borderline case
Potential removal of UBL and LUCK would reduce Pakistan’s weight in the Standard Index to 4bps (from 6bps as of now) and lead to foreign selling of ~USD25 and ~USD20 from UBL and LUCK, respectively by Passive Funds

Pakistan Equity Market: Weekly Review - Index Closes Above 41k Mark on Foreign Buying

KSE100 Index continued to rally into 5th straight week led by foreign buying interest, particularly in Banking stocks. The Index gained 848pts (2.1%) during the week, taking 2019TD return to 10.9%. Market activity also remained elevated during the week with average daily traded volumes inching up by 3.8%WoW to 175mn shares.
