Pakistan Equity Market - Hung Parliament: No More?

Provisional, incomplete results show a comfortable PTI win (110-120 seats) in NA which should allow them to form a coalition government in alliance with PMLQ, GDA, select Independent candidates and possibly MQMP.
PTI’s economic manifesto remains encouraging, we maintain that Pakistan will likely opt for fresh IMF Program before the end of 2018; thus we believe that conditions imposed by the lender will take the center stage in guiding policy making over the next 12-24 months.
The Election results should dispel concerns of Hung Parliament and make PMLN’s anti-establishment policies and graft cases largely irrelevant for economic policy direction; we thus expect the momentum in equities to take KSE-100 to over 44,000 (+6% from last closing) in near term.

Pakistan Equity Market: Weekly Review - Index Closes Above 41k Mark on Foreign Buying

KSE100 Index continued to rally into 5th straight week led by foreign buying interest, particularly in Banking stocks. The Index gained 848pts (2.1%) during the week, taking 2019TD return to 10.9%. Market activity also remained elevated during the week with average daily traded volumes inching up by 3.8%WoW to 175mn shares.
