Munich, August 14, 2020. PANTALEON Films, a wholly-owned film production subsidiary of PANTAFLIX AG (GSIN: , ISIN: ), is looking forward to the launch of the series DAS LETZTE WORT. September 17, 2020 is the day and fans will be able to stream the production on NETFLIX.

Anke Engelke plays the leading role in the six-part dramedy DAS LETZTE WORT. Thorsten Merten, who also came up with the idea for the series, also acts as main character next to her. Further roles are played by Johannes Zeiler, Nina Gummich, Aaron Hilmer, Claudia Geisler-Bading, Gudrun Ritter and Juri Winkler and many more. Showrunners of the series are Aron Lehmann (" Das schönste Mädchen der Welt", "Die letzte Sau", "Highway to Hellas") and Carlos V. Irmscher. As head writers, Lehmann and Irmscher are also responsible for the scripts together with the authors Nora Valo and Carolina Zimmermann. The PANTALEON Films production team includes Dan Maag and Daniel Sonnabend. Aron Lehmann (episodes 1-3) and Pola Beck (episodes 4-6) directed the film.

Brief description:
Death is a sad thing, but are funerals supposed to be like that too? The sudden death of her husband after 25 years of marriage makes the world fall apart for Karla Fazius (Anke Engelke). However, unexpectedly and to the astonishment of her family, she finds new energy in a new profession: she becomes a funeral orator. On her way to regaining her own zest for life, she accompanies other mourners from then on, making every effort to break every single rule in the funeral business. This is much to the regret of the undertaker Andreas Borowski (Thorsten Merten). At the same time, however, she finds it difficult to overcome her own loss and therefore brings more and more chaos to her family. All the six episodes tell different stories of sadness, death and the continuation of life: sometimes it is funny, sometimes sad and always a bit absurd - the way life writes them. Because no matter what others say - death does not have the last word!

With Anke Engelke and Aron Lehmann we felt a massive energy around this project every day. This can be also seen in the result.
