will be in charge of construction on the $40m project and will work closely with SlenderWall licensed precast manufacturer on final engineering coordination and installation. According to Luc Beaumont, BPDL project manager, 234 SlenderWall panels totally 52,000 square feet will be manufactured. Thin-brick facing will be cast into 80% of the panels and closed-cell foam will be applied in-plant to meet current IECC thermal requirements.
Vision 3 designed the hotel’s exterior to aesthetically fit the fabric of the surrounding area. The versatility of the 2” precast concrete skin on SlenderWall panels allowed the architects to easily mimic the brick and stone finishes of the neighboring buildings at lower costs. SlenderWall’s relative lighter weight and larger composite panels (integrated interior steel stud frames) create savings in both erection schedules and structural needs.
Construction on the project has begun and is scheduled for completion by the spring of 2019.
