3M Reports a Strong Close to 2017 With Strength in All Segments, but We Still Think Shares Look Rich
Following a strong close to 2017 and the passage of U.S. tax reform, we are raising our fair value estimate for wide-moat 3M to $197 from $184 per share. Four dollars came from time value of money since our last update, $6 from lowering the U.S. statutory tax rate to 21%, and the remainder from adjusting our 2018 estimates for revenue, profitability, and capital allocation.
