Intel's Reported Chip Security Flaw Is a Warranted Concern That Supports Its Negative Moat Trend
On Jan. 2, British technology outlet The Register reported a design flaw in Intel’s microprocessors produced over the past decade that supposedly makes the chip vulnerable to security breaches and will thus require a major update of Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Apple operating systems as a remedy. Most importantly, the performance of pertinent chips will be negatively affected by an estimated 5%-30% depending on application.
