Having Updated Our Outlook for Alumina Limited, Our AUD 1.00 per Share FVE Is Unchanged
Although alumina prices have risen sharply in recent weeks, we maintain our AUD 1.00 fair value estimate for Alumina Limited. As of the end of September 2017, prices spiked to USD 393 per tonne, up from USD 315 just one month earlier. Officials in China are mandating winter supply curtailments for alumina refining and aluminum smelting to reduce air pollution. The CM Group forecasts production cuts amounting to 2.5 million tonnes of alumina. Additionally, environmental inspections of bauxite min...Alumina is engaged the business of the global bauxite, alumina and aluminium industry, which it conducts primarily through bauxite mining and alumina refining. All of those business activities are conducted through its 40% investments in Alcoa World Alumina and Chemicals ("AWAC"). Co.'s equity interests in AWAC forms a reportable segment.
