Aptar Sees Serious Near-Term Deterioration in Home and Food Segments; Pharma Remains Stable
Flagging core sales growth in the Food & Beverage (down 6%) and Beauty & Home (down 6%) segments marred an otherwise decent quarter for Aptar. A 20% drop in beverage sales was the culprit in the Food & Beverage segment, more than offsetting an 8% increase in food sales. Aptar attributed the downturn in Beauty & Home segment sales to inventory destocking by larger customers such as Unilever, P&G, and GlaxoSmithKline.
