There were no surprises in Asaleo Care’s very weak interim fiscal 2016 result, which was in line with recent guidance. The interim dividend was flat at AUD 4 cents per share, 50% franked. The result reflects increasing competitive tension and higher pulp costs due to the weaker Australian dollar. It highlights the lack of pricing power in Asaleo’s market-leading brands in the face of aggressive price discounting.
