BHP Pretax Result In Line; AUD 17 per Share Fair Value Estimate Maintained
BHP’s fiscal 2016 adjusted net profit after tax of USD 1.2 billion was weaker than expected due to a higher effective tax rate. The decline from USD 6.4 billion in fiscal 2015 reflected weaker commodity prices, which had a negative impact on EBITDA of USD 10.7 billion, with cost savings a partial offset. The adjusted pretax profit of USD 2.4 billion was in line with our forecast.
