Encouraging Signs Amid a Testing Environment for Bureau Veritas
Narrow-moat Bureau Veritas delivered a reasonable set of first-half numbers in the face of multiple adversities. While revenue grew at close to 5% on a constant-currency basis, the impact of declines in key divisions, in addition to the effect of restructuring charges, led to a net profit decline of almost 1% on an adjusted basis year over year.
