Low Inflationary Environment to Result in Only Modest Rent Growth in Fiscal 2017
Narrow-moat-rated BWP Trust reported revenue of AUD 150.2 million and distributable profit of AUD 107.9 million for fiscal 2016. Distributable profit was up 6.2% on last year, driven by relatively modest like-for-like rent growth of 2.3%, developments, and lower interest expense. As expected, rent growth is being hurt by low inflation, as annual rent reviews for the majority of leases are linked to the consumer price index.
