Both RBA and IMF Paint a Rosy Picture for the Australian Economy - But Can it Last?
The minutes of the November monetary policy meeting of the Reserve Bank of Australia, or RBA, and the latest annual report on Australia by the International Monetary Fund, or IMF, paint a rosy picture of the near-term outlook for the Australian economy. Both institutions expect strong economic growth, supported by low interest rates, above trend growth in Australia’s major trading partners, strong population growth and stronger than expected terms of trade.
