Commonwealth Bank of Australia impressed again with an above-consensus first-half fiscal 2017 cash profit of AUD 4.91 billion, up 2.1% on the previous corresponding period, or pcp, and in line with our forecast. We continue to believe Commonwealth Bank is a high-quality, competitively advantaged bank warranting our wide economic moat rating.
