CBS-Viacom Merger Discussions Restart; Moonves May Be Odd Man Out
CBS and Viacom separately announced on Thursday that their respective boards formed special committees of independent directors to explore the possibility of a recombination the two firms. The move comes on the heels of media reports that Shari Redstone wanted to re-merge the two firms and desired new blood on the CBS board.
