CenturyLink Sued by Minnesota Attorney General on Overbilling Customers; Cutting FVE to $30
On July 12, the Minnesota Attorney General filed a lawsuit against CenturyLink, claiming the company had regularly charged Minnesota customers higher amounts than what its sales representatives quoted to them at the time of sale. This adds to a series of lawsuits CenturyLink faces, including a lawsuit brought by a former employee in June and class action lawsuits brought by consumers in a few states. The Minnesota complaint listed 35 incidents where CenturyLink refused to honor the offered rates...CenturyLink, via its subsidiaries, is a communications company engaged in providing an array of integrated services to its business and residential customers. The company's segments include: International and Global Accounts Management, which provides products and services to global enterprise customers; Enterprise, which provides products and services to regional domestic and global enterprises; Small and Medium Business, which provides products and services to small and medium businesses directly and through its indirect channel partners; and Wholesale, which provides products and services to other communication providers across the wireline, wireless, cable, voice and data center sectors.
