The sale of the data center business could generate significant value for CenturyLink shareholders.
CenturyLink’s fourth-quarter results were weak, with total revenue coming in at the low end of the latest, reduced target. The firm was quick to point out that the consumer broadband segment has narrowed the customer loss (5,500 versus 40,000 loss in third quarter and 66,000 in second quarter). While CenturyLink’s enterprise business continued to be soft, we are encouraged to see the company align its operations to focus on telecom services and away from cloud services, which we believe the firm...CenturyLink, via its subsidiaries, is a communications company engaged in providing an array of integrated services to its business and residential customers. The company's segments include: International and Global Accounts Management, which provides products and services to global enterprise customers; Enterprise, which provides products and services to regional domestic and global enterprises; Small and Medium Business, which provides products and services to small and medium businesses directly and through its indirect channel partners; and Wholesale, which provides products and services to other communication providers across the wireline, wireless, cable, voice and data center sectors.
