CLP’s Third-Quarter Statement In Line; Eyes on SoC Reset
Narrow-moat CLP’s third-quarter operational performance held no major surprises. Its Hong Kong power sales were stable, with just 0.5% year-over-year growth in the first-three quarters, which was as expected, given Hong Kong’s mature economy. Meanwhile, power demand in Australia sustained the positive first-half trend, rising 1.4% from a year earlier, which marked the first uptick after six years of contraction. While the LNG projects in Queensland are driving additional demand, in our view some...CLP Holdings is an investment holding company. Through its subsidiaries, Co. operates five geographical regions, Hong Kong, Mainland China, India, Southeast Asia and Taiwan, and Australia.
