Japan Approves Idelvion as Expected; Maintaining FVE for CSL

Idelvion, CSL’s long-acting recombinant factor IX therapy approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, in March 2016, has now been approved by Japan’s Ministry of Health. As this was anticipated, we maintain our fair value estimate for CSL at AUD 125 per share which implies the shares are 15% undervalued at current levels. Our narrow moat rating for CSL reflects cost advantage through economies of scale in plasma fractionation coupled with intangible assets.
