DaVita Faces a Challenging Year, but Longer-Term Horizon Looks Stable
Although DaVita’s fourth-quarter results came in slightly ahead of our expectations, 2017 represents a challenging year for the company, with results likely to fall short of our previous forecast, primarily due to the lingering effects of the declining use of premium assistance programs for dialysis patients in healthcare exchanges. With adjusted operating margin sliding nearly 140 basis points from last year to 12% in the fourth quarter, management retained its previous outlook for $1.6 billion...DaVita is a healthcare provider focused on transforming care delivery to improve quality of life for patients.
