Dentsply Sirona's Second-Quarter Results Hindered by Weakening Technology Outlook

Dentsply Sirona's second-quarter results were weaker than expected, leading the company to reduce its year-end outlook. Management's lower forecast for equipment sales resulted in an approximate $1.1 billion goodwill impairment charge associated with CAD/CAM and imaging reporting units. We don’t anticipate a major change in our fair value estimate while we leave our no-moat rating intact.
