London Stock Exchange Announces Merger With Deutsche Boerse All But Dead
The London Stock Exchange announced that it had received a request from the European Commission (EC) to divest its majority stake in MTS, its Italian-based government bond trading platform, and that it was not willing to comply with this request. Being unable to fulfill the requests of the EC effectively kills the merger between the London Stock Exchange and Deutsche Boerse.
